Accessibility
We want everyone to be able to use our website, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, screen magnification, voice control, or other assistive technology.
The standard we aim for
This website aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 (opens in a new tab) at Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content easier to use for people with disabilities.
What we’ve done
- Every page works with a keyboard alone, with a visible outline showing where you are.
- A “Skip to main content” link is the first thing on every page.
- Photos have text descriptions, and purely decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
- Text and background colors are checked against WCAG AA contrast requirements.
- Every form field has a label, optional fields are marked, and error messages are read out by screen readers.
- Each page has one main heading, with the rest of the headings in a logical order.
- Pop-up panels, like the cabinet color details and photo viewer, can be opened, used, and closed with a keyboard, and the Escape key closes them.
- Animations are reduced if you’ve turned on reduced motion in your device settings.
- Our address, hours, and directions links are written out as text, so the map is never the only way to find us.
- Links that open a new tab say so to screen readers.
We check the site with automated accessibility testing (axe) and by testing it by hand with a keyboard.
Known limitations
- The map on our Contact page is provided by Google, and we can’t control how accessible it is. Our address and directions links for Google Maps and Apple Maps appear next to it and at the bottom of every page.
- Links to Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok go to those companies’ websites, which we don’t control.
